Vision

At REBELLE FILM, we tell stories because we believe in their power. Stories can move us, open up new perspectives and spark change. At the same time, we carry responsibility for how they come into being. This is why we are committed to a film culture that takes diversity seriously, recognises inequalities and actively advocates for fair working conditions. Only then can voices be heard that have previously had little space.

Our work is grounded in attentiveness, respect and genuine curiosity for the people we collaborate with. Every project brings its own backgrounds, needs and challenges, and we want to respond to them with flexibility and sensitivity. We see filmmaking as a shared process in which everyone involved can learn from one another and grow together. This approach shapes our mindset and inspires us to continually develop our working methods.

FLINTA* Perspectives

A central focus of our work is the visibility of FLINTA* perspectives. Women as well as trans, inter and non-binary people continue to be underrepresented both in front of and behind the camera, and we want to actively counteract this. At the same time, we work with all people who share our values and support diversity. What matters to us is a way of working together in which equality, respect and authentic representation are a given. This creates teams in which people feel safe, take responsibility and can unfold their creativity freely.

Caregiving Responsibilities

Another important part of our commitment is supporting filmmakers with caregiving responsibilities. From our own experience, we know how challenging it can be to combine film work with caregiving. During the production of our film VENA, our cofounder Chiara Fleischhacker was a single mother, a time that has left a lasting impact on us. For this reason, we especially want to reach out to people who take on care work and work together to create structures that facilitate their participation and take individual life circumstances into account.

Support for emerging talent

Supporting emerging talent is also an integral element of our work. We want to encourage young people, regardless of whether they have followed a traditional film education or come from other fields, to find their own path into the industry and to offer them insight and guidance. Through mentoring and transparent working processes, we aim to lower barriers and open up new opportunities.
